This one with Aedelas leading the charge against his own people. He actually planned to use Thrall, to raise him as a slave gladiator, teach him to read, tactics, the ways of war, and when the time was right have him lead the other orcs in another war against the world. Aedelas Blackmoore saved him, a man who ran one of these camps but not out of kindness in his heart. With his parents murdered, the babe was left to die to the wilds, but that would not be his fate. Thrall was still a baby when the original Horde was defeated. Some might say that death would have been a kinder option compared to living in these camps. Guards pissing on ya, mistreating the prisoners, that demon blood still lingering in their veins. They were not exactly the best place in the world to find yourself in. All much better fates then to stay within these interment camps. Some of the orcs managed to flee through the portal back home, some took up residance in their base within Blackrock Mountain, others had already left the Horde behind. Those that surrendered were placed within interment camps. This Horde was different from the one who had stepped through the Dark Portal to conquer the world, later defeated by the Alliance of Lordaeron at Blackrock Mountain. In the RTS we saw the guardian Medivh give Warchief Thrall a vision: Bring your people to the ancient lands of Kalimdor, they’re needed to help protect the world against the Burning Legion.
